Your Teen's Post-WA Checklists Inside ✨

Hi Reader

Hope you and your family are doing well!

A little while ago, I promised to share the Post-WA/Exam Review Checklists, and today I'm excited to share them with you today! Sorry it took me a little longer...I wanted to make sure that we capture the most important points that we coach our students to do during our programmes, so that your teen can benefit.

We've put together checklists for Secondary 1 to 5 History, Geography, and Social Studies.

Do note that the checklists are based on pen-and-paper assessments, so if your child had alternative assessments, e.g. Historical/Geographical Investigation or group projects, it might not be applicable.

Why a Checklist?

Taking a few moments to reflect on exam performance isn't about dwelling on a grade. It’s about empowering your teen to:

  • Understand what they did well.
  • Pinpoint areas where they can improve.
  • Develop crucial metacognition skills (thinking about their own thinking!).
  • Create a clear action plan to bridge any learning gaps before the next big exam.

Click on the links below for the specific checklist your teen needs.
We recommend printing it out and going through it together with their exam script.

How to Use These Checklists:

  1. Encourage your teen to find a quiet 30-45 minutes.
  2. Have them sit down with their exam script (question paper and answers).
  3. Go through the checklist questions thoughtfully and honestly.
  4. The goal is to identify patterns and actionable steps, not just to tick boxes!

What's Next?

Reflection is a powerful first step. If, after using the checklist, you and your teen identify specific areas in History, Geography, or Social Studies where they could use more targeted guidance, our team is here to help.

Wishing your teen a productive reflection and a restful June holidays!

Hi Reader, Well done to all our students for completing the end-of-year exams! Now that the exam scripts are back and the school holidays have begun, the question we often hear is, “We’re not sure what to do next. How do we actually improve from here?” As a teacher and a mother of a teen, I know this feeling well. Simply “studying harder” isn’t a plan. The breakthrough comes from understanding what to improve and how. The first step is reflection. To help you with this, we’ve created a set of...

Hi Reader, And just like that, we’re heading into August! Hope you're doing well and that the post-WA checklist I shared a while back helped you and your teen. I’m popping into your inbox with a quick but important update on our programmes. First, a huge thank you for your fantastic support! Our small group online coaching is now closed for the year, and we’re so excited to be working with such a dedicated cohort. This leads to my next update: we will also be closing registration for all our...

Hi Reader, Hope you’re having a wonderful weekend! Yesterday, I mentioned one more lobang coming from our partnership with Kainetik Learning Centre. You may already know them as the fantastic team behind our ongoing Humanities Mastery courses who keep our tech and outreach efforts running smoothly. (If you didn't, now you know!) We know that although there're already many Math tuition centres/tutors out there, getting solid and reliable Math support can be tricky, especially if our busy bee...
