Life as a middle-aged person can be tiring

Hi Reader,

Hope you're having a good start to a brand new week :)

If not, please do give yourself some time in your day to grab a cuppa and take a few deep breaths to reset...

It's been tough recently. My dad was hospitalised and got so ill that his doctors thought that we might lose him over the National Day weekend.

Thankfully, he pulled through. I'm so thankful that Dad is still around and we get to spend a little more time with him.

I'm not sure if you can relate, but life as a middle-aged person can sometimes feel...too much, for lack of a better phrase.

Sometimes it feels like we're responsible for everyone, from having to parent our teen kids and taking care of our ageing parents, to running our households, to working to provide for our family and planning for our own retirement.

So you can't imagine how glad I was for the care and competence of the medical team. They made things so much less stressful than it could have been and allowed us to focus on the Most Important Thing, which is being there for and with my dad.

It also reminded me of an important reason why I set up learnMOJO a decade ago--can't believe it's been 10 years!

My goal was and still is to help time-strapped and results-focused parents access reliable, skilled and caring Humanities educators to coach their teens.

Over the years, I've worked to build a team of skilled and caring Humanities educators who take care of the academic side of things, so that you can focus on the Most Important Thing, which is being with family, or simply take some time out for yourself.

No matter how long or intensively we work with the students under our care, our objective is to help them become more self-directed and skilled at learning how to learn.

That said, I don't think that our teens need and should have ongoing tuition for every single subject.

So our team has worked hard to create a series of exam prep online courses that offer students access to our skilled ex-MOE Humanities coaches without wasting time on meaningless practices, while retaining the flexility to revise anytime and anywhere.

If you'd like to to give your child an exam prep method that is geared at helping them master the essential exam skills and access personalised feedback from our coaches, do feel free to check them out below.

As our cherished email subscriber, we're happy to offer you 10% off regular fees.
We've also extended the deadline for the Geography Mock Exam discounts, which were supposed to expire on 16 August.

(Registration deadline extended)

Due to limited bandwidth this year, we were unable to offer online revision courses for History, Geography and Social Studies for all levels.

We're currently working on offering a more complete suite of courses for Academic Year 2025. These can be taken alongside or without our small group online coaching programmes, so do stay tuned for further updates after the End-of-year Exams.

Thanks for reading and if you have any questions, comments or suggestions, please feel free to let me know by replying to this email :)

Have a great week,

Hi Reader, Well done to all our students for completing the end-of-year exams! Now that the exam scripts are back and the school holidays have begun, the question we often hear is, “We’re not sure what to do next. How do we actually improve from here?” As a teacher and a mother of a teen, I know this feeling well. Simply “studying harder” isn’t a plan. The breakthrough comes from understanding what to improve and how. The first step is reflection. To help you with this, we’ve created a set of...

Hi Reader, And just like that, we’re heading into August! Hope you're doing well and that the post-WA checklist I shared a while back helped you and your teen. I’m popping into your inbox with a quick but important update on our programmes. First, a huge thank you for your fantastic support! Our small group online coaching is now closed for the year, and we’re so excited to be working with such a dedicated cohort. This leads to my next update: we will also be closing registration for all our...

Hi Reader Hope you and your family are doing well! A little while ago, I promised to share the Post-WA/Exam Review Checklists, and today I'm excited to share them with you today! Sorry it took me a little longer...I wanted to make sure that we capture the most important points that we coach our students to do during our programmes, so that your teen can benefit. We've put together checklists for Secondary 1 to 5 History, Geography, and Social Studies. Do note that the checklists are based on...
