Thanks for your responses!

Hi Reader,

Thanks to those of you who voted "Yes" to my previous email about whether you'd like our post-exam checklist! I'll be tidying it up and you can expect the checklist in your inbox early next week :)

I'll be making it generic enough to apply to any subject, but will also include a few guidelines for SS, History and Geography.

Now, if you've been here for a while, you know I rarely email, let alone twice in a day...
but I just got to know about a 10% discount (expiring tonight!!) on the Literature Academy's June Holiday Unseen Poetry Program for Lower Secondary students.

Don't want you to miss out on the discount, so here I am again :)

The live online program is run by Teacher Cheryl, my former colleague from Xinmin Secondary School.

She used to be the English Literature Subject Head and I can vouch for her skill in imparting skills for scoring in Lit.

If your child tenses up whenever they see an Unseen Poetry question, I think this program will be very helpful.

Unseen Poetry is usually 50% of the Lower Sec EOY exam weightage, so it's important for students to work through their fear of unseen poetry, so that they can score well.

This series of live online workshops will help your teen to build the skills examiners actually reward:

  • How to make meaningful observations about a poet’s sound devices
  • How to always, always, always analyse word choice in any Unseen Poetry question
  • Why similes and metaphors are just the starting point—and how to explain their deeper effects
  • How enjambment and word order shape the reader’s experience (and how to write about it convincingly)

They are held fully online so your child can roll out of bed and log in from the comfort of home.

👇 Choose from sessions on the 1st OR last week of June in the link below👇

>>>> View the fees, program structure and exact dates here.
🌟 Don't miss the 10% discount when you sign up for 2 sessions before 28 May 2025!

If you have any questions about this program (or any of her other offerings), please feel free to contact Teacher Cheryl at:

Whatsapp: 97636744 (Whatsapp)
Email: cheryl@literature-academy.com

Hope this helps!

Cheers,

Teacher Karen

P.S. We don't receive any referral fees if you enrol your child in Tr Cheryl's programs. It's just that Literature tutors are basically unicorns, much less good ones, and we don't believe in gatekeeping on good providers.

Hi Reader, Well done to all our students for completing the end-of-year exams! Now that the exam scripts are back and the school holidays have begun, the question we often hear is, “We’re not sure what to do next. How do we actually improve from here?” As a teacher and a mother of a teen, I know this feeling well. Simply “studying harder” isn’t a plan. The breakthrough comes from understanding what to improve and how. The first step is reflection. To help you with this, we’ve created a set of...

Hi Reader, And just like that, we’re heading into August! Hope you're doing well and that the post-WA checklist I shared a while back helped you and your teen. I’m popping into your inbox with a quick but important update on our programmes. First, a huge thank you for your fantastic support! Our small group online coaching is now closed for the year, and we’re so excited to be working with such a dedicated cohort. This leads to my next update: we will also be closing registration for all our...

Hi Reader Hope you and your family are doing well! A little while ago, I promised to share the Post-WA/Exam Review Checklists, and today I'm excited to share them with you today! Sorry it took me a little longer...I wanted to make sure that we capture the most important points that we coach our students to do during our programmes, so that your teen can benefit. We've put together checklists for Secondary 1 to 5 History, Geography, and Social Studies. Do note that the checklists are based on...
